Moving Checklist
Make your move as easy and stress-free as possible.
We understand that moving can be challenging. Over the past decade, we’ve assisted countless tenants with their moves, and we know there are many responsibilities involved.
As you prepare for your move, please take a moment to review the information below.
Move In Checklist
Congratulations on moving into your new home with Vue Rental Properties! To ensure a smooth start to your stay, please keep the following in mind:
First Month's Rent & Security Deposit
For your first month's rent and security deposit, we require certified funds. Please confirm the amounts with us in advance, as we cannot release the keys without full payment, made payable to Vue Rental Properties.
Lease Signing
You can review and electronically sign your lease through your tenant portal. A few additional documents will need to be completed in person during your lease signing appointment.
Rent Payment Policy
Rent is due on the 1st of each month. If payment is not received by the 5th, a late fee will apply. If rent is still unpaid by the 15th, a Notice to Quit will be issued, and an additional $100 fee will be charged.
Failure to pay by the date listed on the notice will result in the initiation of eviction proceedings, along with an additional $800 fee.
If you’re experiencing financial difficulties and need to arrange a payment plan, please contact our office as soon as possible to avoid these additional charges.
Utilities
You are responsible for keeping all utility accounts associated with your rental home in good standing. We require that you provide us with the account numbers for all applicable services, such as gas, electric, oil, propane, water, sewer, and trash.
Renter's Insurance Required
Please note that we do not carry insurance to cover your personal belongings or any personal injury. As a resident, you assume all liability for personal injury, property damage or loss, and other insurable risks.
You may obtain renters insurance through your online tenant portal or by contacting your current insurance provider.
Move Out Checklist
While we’re always sad to see great tenants move on, we truly hope you’ve enjoyed your time with us and felt at home during your stay.
Notice of Intent to Vacate
Please provide written notice of your intent to vacate at least 30 days prior to your lease expiration. Be sure to review your lease to confirm your official move-out date. Rent is required through that date, even if you vacate early.
If your lease expires and no notice is given, it will automatically convert to a month-to-month agreement. If you are enrolled in autopay, remember to cancel it after your final rent payment is submitted.
Property Condition
Before returning your keys, you must ensure the home is restored to its original condition.
- Rental Cleaning:
Thoroughly clean every room and remove all personal belongings and trash. Sanitize the kitchen and bathrooms, and wipe down all floors, walls, and ceilings. All carpets must be professionally cleaned, and a receipt must be provided at move-out. - Landscaping and Outdoor Areas:
If you were responsible for routine landscaping, please complete one final round of maintenance before you leave. - Repairs:
Address any damage that occurred during your tenancy. This includes patching nail or screw holes and repainting any walls where you changed the color.
Security Deposit
The security deposit collected at the beginning of your lease serves as protection against any potential damage during your tenancy. Please note that your security deposit cannot be used as your last month's rent.
A final inspection will be conducted after you move out to assess the condition of the property. If any damages are found, repair costs will be deducted from your deposit.
The remaining balance, along with an itemized statement, will be returned to you within 30 days of your move-out date, provided that you have returned all keys and submitted your forwarding address.
